49ers O-Line Takes Hit

The 49ers announced yesterday that they placed veteran tackle Tony Pashos on injured reserve after he suffered a fractured scapula early on in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Pashos was brought in after Marvel Smith retired and had just worked his way into the starting lineup at RT.

While not officially announced, the team is said to have signed T Chris Patrick from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. As to who will make the start Sunday the team has a couple options. T Adam Snyder was just recently moved to the RG position to rotate with Chilo Rachal, who wasn't playing up to par. Now the team has several options on the right side including Adam Snyder, Barry Sims and now Chris Patrick possibly rotating at RT, with Chilo Rachal, Tony Wragge and Adam Snyder possibly rotating at RG.

Either way it should be interesting to see what happens, though 49er fans seem to be hitting the panic button on the offensive line. Head coach Mike Singletary says the o-line is one of his biggest concerns and they should be, considering the line is on pace to give up more sacks than they did last season, which was 55.
